Red Oak appoints VP of strategic development

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Lead tracking tool and marketing services provider Red Oak Marketing has expanded its team, hiring Jeff Scherer as VP of strategic development, it reported in a recent statement.

Scherer’s experience includes architecting e-business programs for large organizations such as AutoNation, MarineMax and Tracker Marine Group, according to Red Oak. He has also implemented and launched Web sites with MarineMax and Tracker Marine.

“Jeff is a great addition to our team,” said CEO John Trkla. “He’s a proven success at identifying, understanding and satisfying the needs and goals of multiple departments within a business. Jeff also understands how to help organizations maximize and leverage their existing infrastructures to expand.”

Scherer was a member of the first NMMA Dealer Certification Task Force Committee. He is currently a part of NMMA’s Grow Boating Website Committee and has been involved with the MATES Marine Industry Standards Committee, reported Red Oak. He also headed up an industry-first direct sales program to allow consumers to purchase boats online.
