Nordic Tugs names new president, chairman

BURLINGTON, Wash. — Nordic Tugs has named a new company president and chairman of the board following the death of president/CEO Jim Cress, the company announced in a recent release. David Goehring will now serve as company president and Gary Miller has been appointed chairman of the board.

Goehring most recently served as Nordic Tugs’ executive vice-president and has run day-to-day operations for the company since 2005. He is a 14-year veteran of the marine industry and joined Nordic Tugs in 1996 as company controller.

Miller currently serves as president of the private investment firm Cumberland Capital Corporation. He has served on the Nordic Tugs Board of Directors for 11 years in addition to board positions at United Stationers, Inc., and Pinnacle Entertainment.

Nordic Tugs manufactures hand crafted, classic tug-style yachts from 26 to 54 feet and is headquartered in Burlington, Wash.
