NMTA president to step down
SEATTLE – Michael Campbell, who has been president of the Northwest Marine Trade Association since 1999, will step down next June, and the search for his replacement has begun, NMTA reported in a release yesterday.
That announcement was made Tuesday night during the group’s annual meeting. Patrick Baker, NMTA vice chairman and regional manager of Boater’s World, told the 200 members in attendance that Campbell is stepping down to pursue new projects.
“Michael Campbell has been a tremendous leader for this organization,” Baker said. “He brought a new culture to NMTA that fosters growth and participation from volunteer leaders, staff and the membership as a whole. He has been a tireless promoter of our industry and his passion for boating has inspired those around him.”
NMTA’s new president/CEO will take over on July 1, 2009. NMTA has formed a search committee to select the next president of the organization. For a job description and application details, go to www.nmta.net.
