LIMERICK, Pa. – Teleflex Inc. (NYSE:TFX) has appointed Vince Northfield, formerly president of Teleflex Commercial – of which the company’s marine business is a part – as executive vice president for global operations of Teleflex Medical, the company reported in a recent statement.

Northfield joined Teleflex in 2001 and has held several executive management positions including leadership of the company’s automotive and marine businesses and the leadership of Teleflex’s global strategic development and operational effectiveness programs.

In an interview with Boating Industry magazine for a February 2008 article, he spoke about the future of the company’s marine business, which was without a president after the departure of Paul Smith. In particular, he mentioned the company’s plans to consider future marine industry acquisition opportunities and the increased focus he would be able to put on the marine segment following the sale of its auto business.

The Commercial Group businesses will now report directly to Jeffrey P. Black, Teleflex chairman and CEO.
