Navico appoints executive VP of sales and marketing

TULSA, Okla. — Louis Chemi has been named Navico’s executive vice president of sales and marketing for the Americas, the company announced this week. Chemi will continue his responsibilities as executive vice president of product management while also managing sales and marketing efforts for Navico brands, with a focus on expanding the company’s presence and positioning in the market.

“I am very pleased that Louis has accepted the assignment to lead Navico’s Sales and Marketing efforts in the Americas,” Navico President and CEO Jens-Thomas Pietralla said. “His extensive background in marketing to the recreational and commercial boating industry coupled with his unparalleled understanding of what is required to bring high-quality products to the marine market, make him an excellent choice for this important position.”

According to Navico, Chemi has led the product management organization since joining the company in May of 2007. In this capacity, he has product lifecycle responsibility for all brands within the Navico portfolio. Prior to joining Navico, Chemi spent seven years as global product manager with Raymarine.

Navico is the Norway-based parent company of several marine electronic brands, including Lowrance and Simrad.
