Marine Concepts appoints president

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – Marine Concepts has promoted Matt Chambers from general manager to president, the company said in a press release Friday.

“Matt was hired as our general manager just two years ago and has shown the ability, talent, and leadership to advance to president,” said Bob Long, owner and CEO.

While working at K2 Skies, Chambers’s management team was awarded the USA Today/Rochester Institute of Technology Quality Cup in 1995. He later moved into the marine industry and joined Brunswick Corp. as process improvement manger and was quickly promoted to plant manger within the yacht division. While with Brunswick, Chambers was recognized as US Marine Employee of the Year for leading efforts in quality and lean manufacturing. In 2001, Chambers joined Wellcraft as vice president of manufacturing and quality and later was plant manager for Westport Shipyard before joining Marine Concepts in 2006.
