Goggins to serve as Sail America president
MIDDLETOWN, R.I. – Sail America has elected Bill Goggins as its new president, the organization said in its newsletter Tuesday. He is a current member of Sail America’s board of directors and is the outgoing vice president of the marketing committee.
Goggins takes the seat of Bill Bolin, who served as Sail America president since 2004. Bolin will remain on the board for two more years as past president.
“I plan to inject some of my own communications-based style and high energy management into the leadership of this great organization,” Goggins said. “There is a lot to do, but thanks to Bill Bolin’s leadership, Sail America has a fantastic foundation, one which we can build upon in the future.”
When he’s not working with Sail America, Goggins is commercial manager at Harken Yacht Equipment. In his role with Harken, Goggins’ responsibilities include executing Harken’s global marketing and brand strategy as well as coordinating its worldwide sales force from the company’s headquarters in the United States and its offices in Italy, France, England, Australia, New Zealand and Slovenia.
Prior to joining Harken, Goggins worked through graduate school at a Milwaukee-based advertising agency that specialized in outdoor sports. He earned his bachelor’s and MBA from Marquette University.
