Taylor Made Systems names quality assurance director

GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. – Taylor Made Systems has promoted Mike Harkey to director of quality assurance, the company said in a press release yesterday.

“Mike has over 30 years of quality assurance experience in the automotive industry and seven-plus years in the marine industry,” said Al Petit, Taylor Made Systems president. “This promotion exemplifies Taylor Made Systems’ commitment to our customers and the delivery of superior products.”

Harkey served for more than seven years as quality assurance manager at Taylor Made Systems’ Kendallville, Ind., operation and provided additional support to the Payne, Ohio, facility. Previously, Harkey had been the quality assurance manager at Ishikawa Gasket in Bowling Green, Ohio, which is a tier-one automotive OEM supplier. In that capacity he played a key role in the successful implementation and upkeep of an ISO/TS16949 quality system. He has an associate degree in industrial management and automotive diagnostics.

“I’m confident that he will provide the leadership to streamline our associate training programs for congruity across all facilities and to fully integrate new product introductions with prototyping capabilities and production processes,” Petit said.
