Malibu names new sales manager

MERCED, Calif. – Scott Davenport has been named sales manager for the South Central U.S. for Malibu Boats, the company reported in a recent statement.

Davenport got his water sports industry start in the Malibu Boats Quality Control Department in 1999, according to the boat builder, and his communication skills and sales excellence have now earned him a spot on the Malibu Boats sales team.

He will be overseeing Malibu dealers in Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Kansas and New Mexico, the company reported.

Chris Crysdale, the former South-central Sales Manger for Malibu, was recently promoted to national sales manager. Davenport was chosen as his replacement.

“Scott has Malibu Boats at his core.” Crysdale explained. “He also brings a strong set of sales and communication skills to the team. All of these traits are crucial to the dealer network.”

In 2004, five years after starting a career at Malibu, family priorities caused Davenport to move to Texas and leave his position in quality control. He became the regional sales manager for Cornerstone Valve USA, LP, where he established a multi-million dollar network to sell specialty valves to the offshore oil and gas market.

Davenport is supported in this new position at Malibu Boats by his wife Sara and their three boys, Jackson, Luke and Hudson.
