Kevin Michael promoted to WakeBoarding editor
WINTER PARK, Fla. – WakeBoarding magazine Publisher Jim Emmons has named Kevin Michael the magazine’s editor, owner Bonnier Corp. said in a statement Wednesday. Michael replaces Matt Hickman, who’s moving to the newly created position of West Coast editor.
Michael has already had a hand in shaping the magazine’s editorial direction through writing and editing photos for the past four years as senior editor.
“We are very fortunate to have Kevin on board because he is dialed in to so many aspects of the sport, from the readers to the riders, plus he has a tremendous amount of industry experience,” Emmons said.
Michael began his career in 1998 working as a Web producer, launching wakeboardingmag.com and prowakeboardtour.com. In 1999, Michael launched the company’s first downloadable video clip. He is a judge on the Pro Wakeboard Tour and for the Byerly Toe Jam wakeskate series.
