Malibu restructures sales team

MERCED, Calif. – Due to rapidly growing sales and dealer accounts, Malibu Boats has appointed a national sales manager and Midwest sales manager, the company said in separate press releases yesterday.

Chris Crysdale was tapped for the national sales manager position. He will work to further establish Malibu’s commitment to its 100-plus dealers in North America. Crysdale will report to Paul Singer, vice president of sales and marketing at the boatbuilder’s California headquarters.

Crysdale has been associated with Malibu Boats since 1996, initially in Malibu retail sales at a top dealership in Dallas. He earned five consecutive national retail salesman of the year awards beginning in 1998, recognition reserved for the top retail salesperson in the country for Malibu Boats. Malibu Boats hired Crysdale in May 2003 to manage dealer accounts and sales in the south central region. Under his direction, Malibu sales have grown more than 25 percent and many new dealerships were signed on to accommodate the demand and growth in the region.

Malibu has asked Jeff Thayer to be its Midwest sales manager. This is the same territory that earned him recognition as sales representative of the year for O’Brien. He is overseeing dealers in Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota and Illinois.

Thayer has already hit the ground running with dealership visits and a regional dealer meeting. As a member of Malibu Boats managerial staff, Thayer also reports to Singer.

Prior to joining Malibu, Thayer worked as the Midwest sales representative at O’Brien. During his time with the boatbuilder, he grew the business in his territory along with earning sales representative of the year.
