Navico names Product Management Group leader

OSLO, Norway – Navico has strengthened its product management group, appointing Louis Chemi as executive vice president for product management, the company said in a statement Wednesday.

Chemi brings more than 12 years of marine industry sales, marketing and product management experience to his new position. He joined the Navico executive team May 1, tasked with leading the product management organization, which is the group responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of products within Navico’s brand portfolio. Chemi will report to Jean-Thomas Pietralla, CEO and president. Chemi will be based in Acton, Mass.

“Customer-oriented product management is essential for Navico to continue delivering outstanding and innovative solutions to our customers,” Pietralla said. “[Chemi] brings a wealth of experience to Navico, spanning the entire product lifecycle and will apply his deep marine industry understanding to expertly tune our product and service offering to the needs of our customers.”

Chemi has held prior positions in engineering, marketing and sales, in both the recreational and commercial fishing industry. Most recently, he was senior global product manager at Raymarine, responsible for multifunction display products, GPS, PC software and various accessory products.
