ORANGE, Calif. – The Southern California Marine Association recently elected five members to its board of directors for three-year terms, the organization said in a statement Tuesday. The five newly elected board members who will serve beginning July 10 until June 2010 are Nick Barron, president/owner, Hallett Boats, Irwindale, Calif.; Bruce Brown, president/owner, Bruce Brown & Associates, Costa Mesa, Calif.; Dan Klaas, regional manager, Olympic Boat Centers, Newport Beach, Calif.; Brett Tilly, president, Tilly’s Marine, Ventura, Calif.; and Mark White, dealer account manager, Bank of the West, Southern California and Southern Nevada.
Barron and White were re-elected to the board and will be beginning their second consecutive three-year terms of office. Brown, a former SCMA president, and Klaas, both have previous SCMA board experience, while Tilly will be joining the governing body for the first time.
“The members voted in a nice mix of industry diversity,” said Dave Geoffroy, SCMA executive director. “Of the five new board members, we have a long-time boat manufacturer, two marine retailers, a manufacturer’s representative and a marine finance manager. All of these individuals have demonstrated their knowledge and commitment to our industry and will only enhance the effectiveness of our board.”
