Challenger names new CFO

WASHINGTON, Mo. – Challenger Powerboats, Inc.’s board of directors has appointed Eric Weible to serve as chief financial officer, the company said in a regulatory filing Friday. Laurie Phillips will no longer serve as interim chief financial officer. She will continue to serve as the company’s chief executive officer.

In the filing, the company said it had not entered into a formal written employment agreement with Weible, but that he will receive an annual salary of $85,000 and other customary benefits offered to employees.

Weible has held various management positions in public and private companies, including working as a financial advisor with UBS Financial Services from May 2002 through July 2004. He has also worked as a tax manager with Viasystems Group, Inc., a printed circuit boards manufacturer with primary manufacturing operations located in China, from November 2004 until January 2006. In addition, he has provided management consulting services during various points in his career including the periods from July 2004 until November 2004 and from February 2007 until June 2007. Weible is a certified public accountant and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri.
