NW yacht brokers name association manager
SEATTLE – The Northwest Yacht Brokers Association, a regional trade group of more than 340 recreational boat brokers and dealers with headquarters in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood, has promoted Bonnie Bergquist to the position of association manager, the organization said in a statement yesterday.
As NYBA association manager, Bergquist will be responsible for the association’s day-to-day operations and business development activities, along with overseeing administrative staff. Additionally, she will continue to manage the annual Lake Union Boats Afloat Show, which has grown in recent years to become the largest floating boat show on the West Coast. Bergquist joined NYBA in 2004 and has previously held association positions as boat show coordinator, boat show director and communications manager.
“Since coming on board in 2004, Bonnie has played an instrumental role in helping to grow the Lake Union Boats Afloat Show,” said Patrick Kelley, NYBA board president. “Her fresh perspective, discipline and enthusiasm for our industry will help guide NYBA as we grow and enhance the value of the association to our members.”
The Northwest native is a life-long boater and has a bachelor’s from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Wash. She is active with a variety of community and industry associations including the South Lake Union Chamber of Commerce, Northwest Marine Trade Association, Center for Wooden Boats and Affiliated Associations of America.
