BUCYRUS, Ohio – The Sea Ray Group’s Baja Marine Corp. has appointed David Olson its next president, Baja said in a statement today.
Prior to joining Baja, Olson was the general manager for Mercury Marine’s Castings business. He joined Brunswick Corp. at Mercury Marine in 2000 and held a number of roles in strategy and business development. Olson managed the company’s operations for sales of Mercury’s castings capabilities to customers outside the company. Since he assumed the role in 2003, sales and profits grew every year.
Before joining Mercury Marine, Olson held engineering positions at Ford and DaimlerChrysler. He received a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin, and a master’s in mechanical engineering and MBA from the University of Michigan.
Rob Parmentier, who has served as Baja Marine president since 2000, will expand his existing role as executive vice president for the Sea Ray Group, in which he will oversee Sea Ray and Baja’s international sales and capitalize on global strategic opportunities.
