ABBRA elects new members to board of directors
WARREN, R.I. – The American Boat Builders & Repairers Association elected its 2007 officers and directors at the International Marina & Boatyard Conference held Jan. 28 to 31 in Tampa, Fla., the organization said in a statement today.
Charles Teran, owner of Fiberglass Specialties in Tahoe City, Wash., will serve his first term as president of the 23-member board, replacing Jonathan Jones. Brewer Dauntless Shipyard’s Doug Domenie was appointed vice-president and Atlantic Yacht Basin’s Jack Stumborg was appointed secretary and treasurer.
“As new president, I’m proud to be representing both the West Coast and a specialty repair shop,” Teran said. “I’m eager to engage our West Coast colleagues and usher in a new generation of ABBRA members.”
New board members are: Frank Herhold, Marine Industries Association of Southern Florida, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and Steve Smith, Awlgrip. Waukegan, Ill.
Returning board members include: Nancy Bodick, Milford Boat Works; James Bronstien, Broward Marine; John Hall, Frank Hall Boatyard; Neal Harrell, Brooks Marine Group; J. Jopie Helsen, Sailor’s Wharf Yacht Yard; Jonathan Jones, Haven Harbour Marina; Pam Lendzion, MarineTech Management Company; David King, Townsend Bay Marine; Bill Munger, Conanicut Marine Service; Peter Sabo, Camachee Yacht Yard; Andrew Saunders, Saunders Yacht Works; Edwin Sherman; John Underwood, Lockwood Marine; and Garry Williams, Osprey Marine Composites.
