National Marina Day 2007 chairman selected

WASHINGTON – The Association of Marina Industries has named Brad St. Coeur, manager of Harbour Towne Marina in Dania, Fla., chairman of the 2007 National Marina Day celebration, AMI said in a statement Wednesday.

AMI produces National Marina Day, which recognizes America’s marinas. The sixth annual National Marina Day will be observed on Aug. 11, 2007.

“Brad has a demonstrated record of excellence and responsibility in the industry and to his facility through his professional accomplishments, especially in environmental responsibility, which is one of the cornerstones of National Marina Day,” said Alex Laidlaw, CMM and AMI chairman.

St. Coeur oversees day-to-day operations throughout the Westrec Marinas-owned marina and was named the corporation’s manager of the year in 2001. Since St. Coeur’s tenure with Westrec, Harbour Towne Marina was the first facility in South Florida designated both Clean Marina and Clean Boatyard.

St. Coeur participates in a number of marine professional organizations, including AMI and the Marine Industries Association of South Florida, where he is on the Annual Waterway Clean-up Committee and Harbour Towne Marina serves as a site sponsor. He has also been appointed to the board of directors of the Florida Clean Marina Partnership.
