STAMFORD, Conn. – Captain John Wenz, who has been a test captain for the last five years, has been hired as the full-time editor for BoatTEST.com, the company said in a press release Wednesday. His responsibilities include editing all tests and related material, as well as editing BoatTEST.com’s weekly e-newsletter sent to more than 150,000 subscribers.

Wenz has tested over 100 boats for BoatTEST over the years and has a wealth of technical and hands-on boating experience.

He graduated from New York Maritime College and holds a U.S. Coast Guard license as a deck officer on unlimited tonnage vessels as well as a 200-Ton Master’s license. He has been a professional yacht captain since 1977 and has commanded sail and power boats.
