OSLO, Norway – Jens-Thomas Pietralla takes over the role as president and chief executive officer for Navico Holding A.S. following former CEO Darrel Lowrance’s official retirement, the company said in a statement yesterday.
Lowrance stands down as Navico Group president and CEO following a half-century in the marine electronics business and will become a member on Navico’s board of directors.
In Sept. 2006, Pietralla joined the newly created Navico Group, headquartered in Oslo, Norway, as chief operating officer and CEO-elect.
As president and CEO, Pietralla is responsible for the company’s four established brands: B&G, Eagle, Lowrance and Simrad.
Pietralla was born in Wolfsburg, Germany in 1969. He studied physics and mathematics at the University of Ulm. Before joining Navico, Pietralla worked for management consultants McKinsey & Company, Siemens AG and Siemens Mobile.
