Denton named Mainship director of sales and marketing

Luhrs Marine Group announced recently that Bruce Denton has been named director of sales and marketing for Mainship Corporation, replacing Jim Krueger, who was promoted to vice president of operations.

“Mainship has a great product that fits well with the growing baby boomer market,” said Denton. “The economical operation of the Mainship hull and diesel engine combination makes our boats very desirable, and I will be focusing on expanding our market.”

“Bruce has a proven track record of helping dealers grow profitably,” added Krueger. “This promotion will give him a greater opportunity to assist the entire Mainship Dealer network even more.”

Denton has 23 years of experience in the recreational marine industry serving in engineering, sales and marketing, and is a member of the American Society of Naval Engineers. His degrees in business and engineering led to positions early in his career as an electrical engineer and with a Wall Street firm servicing wholesale financial institutions.

Denton joined Mainship in August of 1998 as a regional sales manager, and in 2004 was promoted to dealer development manager. He has been responsible for “80 percent of the Mainship sales each year,” according to the company. His new job responsibilities encompass management of all aspects of Mainship sales and marketing, both in the United States and overseas.
