New leadership elected at MBIA

LIVONIA, Mich. – The Michigan Boating Industries Association revealed election results at its annual Recreational Boating Educational Conference, held Nov. 29 to Dec. 1, the association said in a statement yesterday.

Elected as state-wide directors for a three year term were: Kurt Banas, Sunset Boats & Marine Service, Waterford; Rob McCarthy, Lakeside Marine Group, Harrison Township; and Greg Krueger, Jefferson Beach Yacht Sales, Inc., St. Clair Shores. Elected as the southwest regional director is Warren Wolf, Wolf’s Marine, Benton Harbor.

The board elected officers for 2007. John Hatfield, Howe Interlakes Marine, Indian River, was elected chairman of the board. Pete Beauregard, Jr., Colony Marine Sales, St. Clair Shores will be vice chair. Patti Smith, Silver Spray Sports, Fenton, will serve as secretary/treasurer.

MBIA has eight statewide directors that are elected by regular members throughout the state and three regional directors (Southeast, Southwest and Northern Michigan), which are elected by regular members only in the designated region. Each directorship is a three-year term and the board elects officers for one-year terms.
