KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Brunswick Freshwater Boat Group, a Brunswick Boat Group unit, has appointed Timothy Schiek to HarrisKayot president, the company said in a statement yesterday. He succeeds James M. “Jimmy” Poiry, who resigned to pursue a new career opportunity outside the marine industry.
Schiek, who will continue to serve as vice president and general manager of pontoon and deckboats for the Freshwater Boat Group, will now have expanded operational responsibilities for HarrisKayot.
“Tim’s marine experience, along with his strategic planning and product development skills, suits him to lead this business,” said Andrew Graves, Freshwater Boat Group president. “He will continue HarrisKayot’s track record in further expanding its presence in the pontoon and deckboat markets.”
For the past two years, Schiek led the team that launched Brunswick’s High Performance Product Development initiative across the company’s marine businesses. Schiek has held various positions of increasing responsibility since joining Brunswick in 1995, including positions with Mercury Marine, the Brunswick Boat Group and Brunswick Corp.
