Bill Gerhart joins Lumiron

MIAMI, Fla. – Electronic sign and LED product manufacturer Lumiron has hired Bill Gerhart to open a new division specializing in marine applications, it reported in a recent statement.

Lumiron and its sister company Gamma has been providing electronic signs and LEDs worldwide since 1984 with clients like Disney World, Port of Miami, and The University of Pittsburgh to name but a few.

In the past, the company has always handled the marine business in with all their other business. However, the influx of cheap inferior foreign products, coupled with a mass switch by the marine community to LEDs, has created a tremendous demand for the company’s products, it said. This has forced the opening of a division dedicated to the marine industry, with a person who understands the unique problems and specific uses the marine industry presents, according to the company.

Having been involved with Test Harbor, Harbor West, Concorde Yacht, Derecktor Gunnell, Lauderdale Propeller, Beard Marine, and Burger Boat along with a number of others companies, Gerhart brings a diversified marine background. Having been on the board of directors for the first marina and boat yard conference, the Port Everglades Association, Florida Marine Industry Association, Broward County School Board committee to establish a marine program at McFatter Technical Center, and representative to the MIASF for almost 30 years, he has been deeply involved with the problems, accomplishments, and goals of the marine industry, the company said.
