LEMTA names new communications manager

WESTLAKE, Ohio – The Lake Erie Marine Trades Association has appointed Jessica Simkins as its new communications manager, LEMTA said in a release yesterday.

In her new position, Simkins will be responsible for a variety of duties including all LEMTA advertising and public relations programs, media relations, promotion of special events, newsletter publications and Web site maintenance. She will also help manage and promote LEMTA’s three annual boat shows: the Cleveland Mid-America Boat Show, the Michigan City In-Water Boat Show and the North American In-Water Boat Show.

“Jessica’s enthusiasm and strong background in marketing and advertising will be an excellent addition to our team,” said Ken Alvey, LEMTA president.

Prior to joining LEMTA, Simkins worked at RIGGS, a South Carolina advertising agency. In her capacity as production/traffic manager for RIGGS, she implemented new and efficient scheduling and production protocols for all advertising collateral and she worked closely with media outlets and vendors to ensure effective advertising.
