Increased demand drives growth at Marine Realty

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Due to increased demand for marinas and major waterfront development opportunities, Marine Realty, Inc. has added two people to its staff, the company said in a statement yesterday. Jim Shaw and Michael Lashbrook joined the firm this week.

Shaw was formerly a licensed real estate salesman with Balistreri Realty and a captain and marine science instructor in the Florida Keys. He also taught environmental science and biology at the Dade Marine Institute.

“Jim has a real interest in working in the marine industry, and, with his background in the marine sciences, will bring a unique perspective to our sales and consulting division,” said Christopher W. “Kit” Denison, Marine Realty president.

Lashbrook has an extensive resume in commercial real estate market research. His experience includes multi-family developments, apartments, condominiums and condo-conversions, as well as hotel and resort projects, all over 100 units.

“Mike’s strong, numbers-oriented background will be valuable in the technical side of our business, which will help optimize the potential of marina development for our clients,” Dennison said.

Marine Realty specializes in sales, acquisitions, and consulting relating to marina and marine properties, including marinas, boatyards, and mixed-use waterfront developments. The company also provides private client services for commercial and residential properties.
