Broward Marine names new executive vice president
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Broward Marine has hired Jim Bronstien as executive vice president and chief operating officer, the company said in a statement Friday. This move answers the question about Bronstien’s next move since stepping down last year as Rybovich Spencer president after selling the company.
“When I met Jim it became apparent that he was ready for a new business venture. It did not take long to realize that he would be a great fit in helping us lead the resurgence of Broward,” said Tom Lewis, president. “Jim’s vast knowledge and experience in all facets of the yacht business will be an enormous asset for us and I am excited to have him join me as we rebuild Broward.”
“There are very few yacht companies in the area that I would have considered teaming with, but Broward has the heritage and brand along with a renewed quality and focus that will put them ahead of the pack”, Bronstien said. “After many meetings with Tom and learning about the direction the company is now taking, it became obvious that Broward is on the way back to being a major force in yacht building and yacht service and I am energized to help guide that move. Although Palm Beach County will remain my home, I will be expanding my roots in Broward County as well.”
At Rybovich Spencer, Bronstien was responsible for all aspects of running the company, including operating issues, staff development, marketing and executive management. He owned the company for five years. Bronstien is MIA Palm Beach County past president and current board member, American Boat Builders and Repairer’s Association past president and current board member and MIA South Florida current board member.
