WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. - Eric Sorensen, J.D. Power and Associates' marine practice director, has resigned from the company effective May 31, the company said in a statement Wednesday.
Sorensen started with the firm on a consulting basis in 2000 and was hired full time in 2001. He was instrumental in designing the syndicated Boat Competitive Information Study and growing it from three boat segments and a few dozen boat brands in 2001 to six segments and nearly 80 brands in 2006, the company said.
Sorensen will continue to consult for the company on a part-time basis helping boatbuilders use the BCIS analysis to improve their competitive position, conducting BCIS-based management and dealer meeting seminars for OEMs, and consulting on boat-related issues in relation to the BCIS study.
