Industry innovator joins Westerbeke

TAUNTON, Mass. – Westerbeke Corp. recently added Henry “Hank” Grilk as director of engineering, the company said in a press release yesterday. Grilk comes to Westerbeke with a marine technology background, particularly in new product research and development.

“Hank’s engineering knowledge and orientation perfectly suits our company
at this time,” said Jack Westerbeke, president. “We’re bringing new technologies and innovations to our entire product range to dramatically improve operating performance, efficiency and safety. So, we’re glad to have his expertise on board.”

Grilk has been issued nine patents, most of which are marine industry related, and is listed as a technical reference in 41 other patents.

In recognition of Grilk’s service to the marine industry and contributions to boating safety, design, and the advancement of recreational boating, he was recently honored as the American Boat and Yacht Council’s 2006 Special Industry Lifelong Service Award recipient. He is chairman of ABYC’s gas detector project technical committee.
