BRP undergoes reorganization
STURTEVANT, Wis. – Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. underwent a reorganization yesterday under which the corporation returned manufacturing responsibility to each of its divisions and several executive changes took place.
“Two and a half years ago, we decided because of the cost reduction plan to bring all the manufacturing operations under one person to generate synergies and cut costs,” explained Pierre Pichette, BRP vice president of communications and public affairs, in an interview yesterday. “We’ve done that. We are satisfied with the improvement we have gone through over the past 30 months.”
Within the outboard engine business, responsibility for its three manufacturing facilities was returned to Roch Lambert, vice president and general manager of outboard marine engines at BRP.
In addition, it was announced that Outboard Engine VP of Manufacturing Tony Koblinki would be leaving the company, to be replaced by Richard Gobeil, former VP of manufacturing for BRP’s snowmobile, PWC and ATV businesses.
Outboard Engine VP of Engineering Bob Young also was fired. George Broughton, director of engineering, will temporarily replace Young as the company searches to fill that position.
Other positions BRP’s outboard engine division is looking to fill are VP of operations and VP of marketing and strategic planning.
The company also now has a new vice president and general manager of snowmobiles, watercraft, ATV and sportboats – Yves Leduc, the former vice president and general manager for Rotax, according to Pichette.
