Laidlaw moves from Westrec to Flagship

DALLAS, Texas – Flagship Marinas has hired Alex Laidlaw as its new vice president of operations, reported Flagship President Gregg Kenney in a statement today.

Laidlaw comes to Flagship from a position as regional manager and area vice president with Westrec Marinas, overseeing some of the countries largest marinas for over 15 years, reported Flagship.

Laidlaw currently serves as vice chairman of the Board of Directors for the Association of Marina Industries and also is a Certified Marina Manager from the International Marina Institute.

“We could not be more pleased to have Alex on the Flagship team. His professional knowledge of marina operations and superior leadership skills will be pivotal towards the future growth of Flagship Marinas Acquisitions,” said Kenney.

Laidlaw adds, “I’m very excited about becoming part of the Flagship Team. They have a wonderful group of properties and great leadership. I look forward to help growing the company and supporting the team of employees that has made Flagship Marinas a real success.”

Laidlaw will begin his duties with Flagship on May 22 and will be located at Aqualand Marina on Lake Lanier in Georgia.

Flagship Marinas reported that it operates over 10,000 slips and is ranked by size and number of slips among the top three marina companies in the United States.
