SAI names two new sales reps
BOSTON – SAIL has named two new advertising sales representatives, the magazine said in a statement Monday.
Long-time advertising salesman Phil Troy has been chosen as the Western regional manager for SAIL, BoatWorks, and SAIL’s Sailboat Buyers Guide in Texas and the states west of the Rocky Mountains. Jason Pinter has been selected as SAIL‘s Mid-Atlantic regional sales manager. He will be responsible for handling advertising sales for SAIL, BoatWorks, SAIL’s Sailboat Buyers Guide and their companion web sites.
Troy has 25 years of advertising sales experience. He spent the majority of his career with Salt Water Sportsman, a Time4Media magazine.
“We’re thrilled to have found someone of Phil’s caliber to handle this territory for us,” said Gregg Boersma, SAIL‘s ad director. “Phil’s a real pro-he knows the marine business, he knows magazines, and he knows the ad sales business.”
Pinter will be based in SAIL‘s Annapolis, Md., office. He was most recently worked at Soundings, covering advertising sales for the Mid Atlantic states there as well. Prior to that, Pinter managed the J/Port Sailing Club in Annapolis, where he was responsible for overall operations, including recruiting and maintaining memberships, new member education, staff management, and developing and implementing business plans. Pinter has also been head instructor and co-director of the Kidship Sailing School, part of the Annapolis Sailing School.
