MarineMax creates new vice president position

CLEARWATER, Fla. – MarineMax, the recreational boat retailer, has promoted Edward Russell to vice president of operations, it reported in a recent statement.

“As MarineMax continues to expand, it is critical to align our management team to support our anticipated growth,” said William McGill Jr., MarineMax chairman, president and CEO.

McGill added that Russell has successfully managed MarineMax’s Florida operations for the last three years, overseeing more than 50 percent of the company’s revenue in fiscal 2005.

“Throughout his career, which began 22 years ago as a salesperson for my Clearwater, Fla.-based dealership, Ed has demonstrated his leadership and passion for our team, our company and our customers. Ed is well qualified to lead our nationwide operations,” McGill concluded.
