Port Royal Group expands its team
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Certified project management professional Moroni Duke has been added to Port Royal Group’s Allied Marine Professionals, said Phil Friedman, PRG president in a statement yesterday.
“We’re extremely pleased to have Moroni aboard,” Friedman said. “His 20-year background in the discipline of project management, in both the marine and aeronautical sectors, will be of enormous benefit to our consulting clients.”
Duke is a Microsoft Project black belt with a current focus in the implementation of Microsoft Office EPM, Friedman said.
“Moroni and I first met up when we worked together to introduce Critical Path Management to new build and major refit operations at Palmer Johnson Yachts,” Friedman said. “Moroni is a practitioner par excellence who combines theoretical acumen with practical, hands-on field experience.”
Duke is an expert in enterprise resource management software. He has repeatedly demonstrated that ERP systems, which use the bill of materials to schedule materials and work orders, don’t work well for large-scale, longer duration projects.
Duke has implemented numerous Microsoft Project solutions. He set up program control for Tracor Flight Systems in support of the B717 program. He saved the Northrop Grumman F35 program $250,000 per year by standardizing and integrating their Microsoft Project schedules to their legacy systems. With Friedman, he introduced critical path scheduling to large scale yacht builds and major refits at Palmer Johnson Yachts. More recently, he partnered with the DockMaster marine management software company as project management consultant in support of their Microsoft Project interface.
