Veteran IMAR plant manager dies
FARGO, N.D. – Funeral services were held Jan. 7 in Barnesville, Minn. for Dave Bolgrean, longtime plant manager for Silverline, Classic Roadsters and Sugar Sand (now IMAR), according to a statement from the company Jan. 17. He died unexpectedly in his home of apparent heart failure. He was 57.
Bolgrean began his career in fiberglass at Silverline Boats in 1967 and worked his way to plant manager. He was subsequently named plant manager for Leisure Industries, building both Classic Roadsters kit cars and Sugar Sand jet boats. The IMAR Group acquired the Sugar Sand line in 2004 and followed with the Gekko tow boat line in 2005, retaining Bolgrean, who proved invaluable in the integration of new products within the plant, according to the company. He continued his service with IMAR to the present.
“Dave has been a vital presence within our plant for years,” said Tom Eide, IMAR CEO. “He had an incredible work ethic and an amazing passion for people. His leadership within our company arose from those strong attributes. His biggest personal investment was in the people around him; he made everyone that worked with him a better person. We will miss him greatly.”
Bolgrean is survived by his wife, Shirley, two daughters, Micki (Corey) Bang and Tina Bolgrean; and two sons, Jeff (Laura) Bolgrean and Jason (Ronda) Bolgrean; his mother, one brother, two sisters and six grandchildren.
