Unified Marine president passes away
NAPLES, Fla. – Steve Taugher, president of Unified Marine, died after a long battle with cancer yesterday – his 52nd birthday – the marine accessories manufacturing company has reported.
“Unified Marine, Inc. announces with great sorrow the passing of marine industry icon, beloved husband, father and friend Steve Taugher,” the company wrote in yesterday’s release.
Taugher was a 29-year veteran of the marine industry, spending 23 of those years at Attwood where his positions included senior vice president, Marine and then vice president, Category Business Operations for Brunswick.
Taugher was previously employed with Mercury Marine and All Seasons Industries, manufacturer of Citation cruisers and Imperial boats. He was a Purdue University alumnus in Business Management.
“While serving as president of Unified Marine, Steve was instrumental in assembling a plan and a team to take the company to the next level,” said Unified CEO David Nirenberg.
Taugher was an active member of the NMMA, serving on the Accessory Division Board of Directors, as a member of the Marine Industry Certification Board, and numerous NMMA committees including: Government Relations, PAC, EDI, Shows, International, Mutual Efficiency Forum, Statistics, MAATS and IBEX.
A funeral service time and location have not yet been announced.
