Johnson Outdoors appoints new CFO

RACINE, Wis. – Johnson Outdoors Inc., an outdoor recreation company, has named David W. Johnson to the position of vice president-chief financial officer, according to a statement from the company yesterday. Johnson has served as interim chief financial officer since August 2005, during which time the company has conducted an extensive executive search.

Johnson brings a broad range of financial experience to his new role, with a twenty-year career that spans the banking, consumer packaged goods and outdoor recreation industries. Before joining Johnson Outdoors in December 2001, Johnson held a number of financial positions of increasing responsibility, first with the Northern Trust Company and later with the Procter & Gamble. Johnson was director of treasury services and financial analysis at Johnson Outdoors before becoming interim chief financial officer. Since assuming that role, he has led all aspects of the company’s finance department, including financial and tax planning, financial reporting, investor relations and financing efforts. Johnson holds a bachelor’s in economics from DePauw University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.
