MBIA executive receives award

LIVONIA, Mich. – Van Snider, president of the Michigan Boating Industries Association, received the Michigan Society of Association Executive’s “Strategic Association Leader Award” during MSAE’s annual Diamond Award ceremony on Sept. 15 in Plymouth, Mich., according to a statement from the MBIA Tuesday.

Snider, who has served as president of MBIA since August 1990, was recognized for “outstanding leadership and a commitment beyond expected standards,” according to the association.

His leadership of the Michigan marine trade association includes his development of the Spring Boating Expo held each March in Novi, Mich.; government relations program and legislative accomplishments; sound financial management of the association; and various positions he has held on boards of directors and committees both within the boating industry as well as in the non-profit industry.

“I have been fortunate to work with outstanding board members and association staff members who have given their utmost to make the associations I have worked for in the past 22 years the best they could be,” Snider said. “I share this award with them.”
