Marine Mover – Sportboat designer Bob Carlson joins Larson/Glastron
LITTLE FALLS, Minn. – Designer Bob Carlson has joined Larson/Glastron Boats, the Minnesota company that builds Larson® and Glastron® fiberglass family boats, according to a statement from the company today.
The announcement signals a coming home of sorts for Carlson who, along with his father, Art Carlson, penned numerous designs for Glastron/Carlson, the sportboat brand that was created following Glastron’s acquisition of Carlson Boats of Anaheim, Calif.
In addition to his earlier work for Glastron/Carlson, Carlson has consulted with several major boat companies as well as motorcycle and personal watercraft manufacturers. He has also designed several award-winning and record-setting race boats. Carlson’s progressive boat designs have been described by the media as “futuristic,” “inspired” and “avant garde.”
“Glastron has a history of cutting-edge styling, and Bob’s talents will enable us to continue to lead in this area,” said Jeff Olson, Larson/Glastron president. Olson also indicated that Carlson is already working on designs for a new Bob Carlson signature series of Glastron/Carlson sportboats.
