Marine Mover – ComMar names new sales representative for Fla.

TIVERTON, R.I.– Pat Murphy has joined ComMar Sales, the Rhode Island-based marine manufacturer’s representative group, as a representative for Western Florida, the company reported in a recent statement.

“We’re thrilled to have Pat on board,” said ComMar President Tim Conroy. “He has a proven track record of success. Both our manufacturers and customers will find Pat knowledgeable, technically astute and a hard worker.”

Murphy has been involved in many aspects of the marine industry for over 25 years, according to the company. He ran Hatchet Bay Marina on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas and operated Eleuthera Charters, a bareboat charter service, in the same area. Murphy has also been a dealer for several lines of boats including Prout, PDQ and Cabo Rico.

Murphy was regional manager with the Valvoline Company covering the Southeast United States and the Caribbean. While with Valvoline, and later with Centerpoint Marketing, he was directly involved in the marketing programs of the three previous America’s Cup Challenges in New Zealand and San Diego.

Murphy currently holds a Coast Guard Captain’s certificate, a master scuba diver’s license, is a Boy Scout leader and is a counselor for marine-oriented merit badges in the River Bend Boy Scouts of America Council in Northeast Florida.
