Marine Mover – Wade selected as plant manager for American Waterways

SOMERSET, Ky. – Cary Wade, compliance and safety manager for Sumerset Houseboats has been named plant manager for the houseboat manufacturing company, American Waterways, the company said in a recent release.

A 10-year veteran of the houseboat manufacturing industry, Wade brings supervisory skills, electrician certification and Hazmat/RCRA training to the table.

“When we began developing the business plan for American Waterways we knew a skilled, knowledgeable, multi-tasking individual was needed to manage the launch of this project,” said Steve Lochmueller, president & CEO of American Waterways. “Cary Wade has a proven track record within the houseboat industry. We were ecstatic when he accepted our offer.”

Wade, a Russell County, Ky., native, has lived in Somerset the past 14 years.

“This is a challenging opportunity and I appreciate the faith Steve has in my ability to get the job done,” Wade said. “We are pulling together a strong management team and solid production crew. We really operate from a team concept; it will take everyone pulling in one direction for a smooth, successful launch.”

The American Waterways facility will be located in Monticello, Ky., and plans to begin manufacturing in early June 2005.
