Marine Mover – Doyle Sailmakers hires Detroit loft manager

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Veteran Detroit sailmaker Al Declerq has joined Doyle Sailmakers and will become the loft manager for Doyle Detroit, Doyle Sailmakers reported in a release Monday.

The Doyle group, now the world’s second-largest sailmaker, comprises over 50 lofts in 30 countries. The new loft is called Doyle Detroit (formerly UK Sailmakers Detroit) and will serve sailors in the Michigan and New York regions.

“Joining Doyle means gaining access to Doyle’s considerable worldwide resources,” Doyle Detroit loft manager Al Declerq said. “These projects require a tremendous amount of engineering, and the lessons learned in this arena are being successfully applied to the racing and cruising products for Doyle customers with all sizes of boats.”
