Marine Mover – The US Sailing Center hires executive director

JENSEN BEACH, Fla. – The US Sailing Center of Martin County, Fla., a not-for-profit community sailing program located in Jensen Beach, Fla., has hired Tom Coleman as its full-time executive director, the U.S. Sailing Center said in a recent release.

Coleman’s responsibilities will include planning, staffing and administering a 450-youth, 10-week summer program as well as running a year round community sailing program for all ages. In addition, he will work closely with the center’s race committee in scheduling and organizing six to eight national regattas during the winter season.

Coleman has been a fixture at Optimist class events across the nation for years and has conducted clinics for all levels of sailors in the US, Bermuda, and Bahamas.

“It is my hope to help make USSCMC one of the premiere youth facilities in the world,” Coleman said. “I think we will see some very interesting and innovative programming growing out of the center.”
