Marine Mover – MasterCraft appoints director of New Product Development and Engineering
VONORE, Tenn. – MasterCraft has hired Scott Wood as director of New Product Development and Engineering, the boat builder reported in a recent statement.
Wood comes to MasterCraft having worked in the marine industry for over 25 years.
He started his career in plant and operations management for such boat builders as Bruno and Stillman Yacht Co., Sisu Boat Co. and York Harbor Yacht Co., according to MasterCraft. Eventually, he moved into managing product development and engineering with companies like Boston Whaler and Chris Craft and most recently, Wood served as VP of product planning and development for Hinckley Yacht Co.
As MasterCraft’s director of New Product Development and Engineering, Wood will oversee all phases of product development including extensive market research, benchmarking, and designing and engineering exciting new products to meet customer’s high expectations, the boat builder reported.
With a background that also includes marketing, Wood will be well equipped to meet the various needs of the sales and marketing channels, the company said.
