Marine Mover – Offshore Sailing School appoints new sales manager

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Offshore Sailing School has appointed Diana Smith as sales manager, effective January 2005, announced Doris Colgate, president and CEO, in a recent company statement.

Headquartered at the Fort Myers Sales Office, Smith will be responsible for all aspects of sales nationwide, including courses and programs, special events and boat shows around the country.

Smith was most recently senior sales account manager and market intelligence officer for Delphi Corp., an automotive supplier in Detroit, Mich. She was also on the founding Board of Directors of the National Women’s Sailing Association, serving as president from 2000 through 2004.

Her career includes extensive experience in business-to-business and retail sales, as well as event planning, marketing and promotion for events, according to the school. Smith is an avid sailor, both racing and cruising, with 11 Port Huron-to-Mackinac races in her resume as both crew chief and skipper, and has led cruising flotillas and delivery crews.
