Marine Mover – Yachting names Wooldridge managing editor
NEW YORK – Yachting magazine, part of Time4 Media’s Marine Group, has appointed John Wooldridge to the position of managing editor, according to a statement from Peter Janssen, the editorial director of Yachting and Motorboating magazines said in a release today
Wooldridge had been managing editor at Motorboating and has also edited numerous boating publications, including Motor Boating & Sailing, Lakeland Boating, The Yacht, Chesapeake Bay, Waterway Guide, Rudder and Sea magazines.
“With more than 20 years of experience writing for marine titles and a lifetime of adventures on the water, John brings well-honed expertise and strong enthusiasm to the Yachting team,” Janssen said. “We’re thrilled to have him on board.”
Wooldridge is the second major addition to the editorial masthead of Yachting in 2004 – the first being Peter Janssen’s appointment to the newly created post of editorial director in January. An editorial redesign of the magazine will debut in November, Janssen said in the release.
A Texas native and resident of Annapolis, Maryland, Wooldridge holds a 50-ton U.S. Coast Guard charter captain’s license.
