Marine Mover – NMMA hires new manager for Vancouver International Boat Show

CHICAGO – The National Marine Manufacturers Association has hired Jennifer Kastelein as show manager for the Vancouver International Boat Show, NMMA said in a statement today.

Kastelein joins NMMA from Pacific National Exhibition, where she worked as manager of Exhibit Space. She also worked with DMG World Media for 13 years, where she was show manager for British Columbia’s largest trade show, the semi-annual Vancouver Gift Show.

NMMA started producing the Vancouver International Boat Show last year for the British Columbia Marine Trades Association, which owns the show. The next Vancouver show is to be held Feb. 9-13, 2005.

“Since NMMA took over production during the later stages of planning for last year’s Vancouver show, it was unfeasible to hire a local person to manage the event,” said NMMA’s regional show manager for Canada, Linda Waddell. “With Jennifer, we have found a successful show manager with years of experience, and one who has extensive knowledge of the Vancouver market.”

NMMA’s Toronto International Boat Show staff will continue to work on the Vancouver show with Kastelein, who will work out of NMMA’s new office in Burnaby, British Columbia.
