Marine Mover – Walker Bay Boats Inc. appoints a new president

UNION GAP, Wash. – Andrew Taylor has been appointed president of Walker Bay Boats, the company said in a release this morning.

He will take over from previous president, John O’Brien, who has decided to retire and spend more time at home in Bellingham, Wash. the company said.

“This is a truly exciting company with an incredibly versatile product line,” Taylor said. “I look forward to working with this talented team and expanding our distribution and increasing global market share. All of us at Walker Bay would like to thank John for his contribution and commitment to the company’s success. We wish him all the best.”

Taylor has been brought on board to take Walker Bay through the next growth stage as the company continues to expand operations and grow internationally, according to the boat builder.

Taylor has a background in both boat and plastics manufacturing. He was a senior consultant to Walker Bay in the company’s formative years, established new dealer networks and directed the relocation of Walker Bay’s manufacturing plant to its current location, the company said.

Since that contract, Taylor has been the general manager and COO for Crescent Custom Yachts, builder of large luxury yachts based in B.C., Canada.
