Marine Mover – Southport hires lamination veteran

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Southport Boat Works has hired Kenny McCracken has as lamination manager, the company said in a recent release.

McCracken will be in charge of all lamination activities from gel coat to pre-assembly, according to the release.

Southport said McCracken has spent 34 years in marine industry manufacturing. Prior to his most recent appointment, McCracken was lamination general manager at Rampage sport fishing yachts in Navassa, N.C.

“Kenny McCracken is a tremendous asset to Southport as we construct a state of the art lamination facility, complete design and begin production of exciting new products,” said Alton Herndon, Southport managing partner. “Kenny will help develop the strong team of laminators necessary for our planned future growth.”
