Marine Mover – NMTA names new government affairs coordinator

SEATTLE – Holly Whitemarsh has been hired as government affairs coordinator for the Northwest Marine Trade Association (NMTA), replacing Michelle Kruse who left the NMTA last month to move to Chicago, Ill., the association reported in a recent press release.

“Michelle did a wonderful job in the time she was here,” said Michael Campbell, NMTA president. “Holly has the right experience at the right time for what we’re trying to accomplish at the NMTA.”

Whitemarsh received her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Washington in 2001. She brings experience in legislative affairs and finance after several years working on congressional campaigns, including Congressman Doc Hastings from her hometown of Pasco, Wash.

Whitemarsh will be responsible for attending legislative hearings, meeting with legislators to discuss industry issues, providing materials in support of lobbying efforts, tracking state and federal boating dollars to ensure boating tax revenue is spent promoting boating programs, and coordinating the NMTA’s Political Action Committee.
